What a great day that Day 36 has been. I'm not employed don't let me give you that wrong impression. But everything has just been smooth and problem free. The train ride was straight forward as ever, the interview time (4pm) was just perfect as by time I took the two stop tube ride I had just 15 minutes to kill which was easy. The interview...went well!
The gent interviewing me was a great bloke, he was friendly and by no means treated the interview as formal with the way he was talking. However even if this isn't the employing job for me, I can take some strong positive feedback from the day in the sense that he opened his interview by saying that my CV was one of the best designed he has ever seen!
So thats always going to be cool to hear, now I just need to hear him say "come work for us". There weren't really any formal questions, more a full chat for about an hour about what I used the net for, what marketing campaigns I would deploy for different companies etc but all went well and no where near as problematic as the previous interview the other Monday. After the hour was up, I shook his hand, smiled and disappeared through the door with the hope that he will keep his promise of contacting me in the next week or so regarding the role.
After that, the tube ride home was bungled up by some problem as Kings Cross underground, who knows what, but again by the time I had walked round the corner from Euston, the train was only a 20 minute wait, all ran smoothly and I'm home without any problems - unlike the last ride home!
So all I can do it wait and if I dont get the role, it seems pretty clear I need to work on my interviewing skills if so since he loved my CV so much ![]()
- Decided today to treat myself given that I don't spend any more but on interview outtings and the odd binge at the weekend, so I got my ticket for the Sheffield derby game in a couple of weekends
and I think I might register for the glastonbury tickets this weekend...

Have you only been searching for 36 days or is your blog only 36 days old.
I would be surprised if you did not get a job offer at some point considering that you have a 2:1 in a very marketable qualification.
Is the line of work you are persuing relevant to your degree? What kind of work are you doing now? Is it relevant to your chosen career?
I seem to remember from one of your other posts that you are registered with employment agencies. Are you registered only for permanent jobs, or are you doing temp work relevant to your chosen career?
Relevant temp work is a great way to get your initial experience. It's how I managed to broaden my experience in my own line of work.
Just out of interest, how did you write your CV that made it so good? Did you do it yourself, or did you get it written for you?
